My selections are based after taking into various factors like, winning time, lenghts lost, change in weights, distance variation, draw, track variant,Course variant(race center), current form of the horse. From next racing day, I'll justify my selections by giving rating points. Following table will help you to understand how superior is the horse in a given field. One point is equal to one length.Higher the points, better is the winning chance.
Class Rating
V - 75 to 80
IV - 81 to 85
III - 86 to 90
II - 91 to 95
I - 96 to 100
Graded/Classics - 101 & above

Dear Madhu,
A horse in class V B will get a maximum rating of 80 only, in class IV a max of 85 etc.
As viewers we are used to the percentage factor from childhood, getting 100% in Maths, 56% in History,
78% in Science etc.For any given subject the max is 100% and we can easily distinguish the difference in terms of %age.
Suppose in a Class II race, your max is 95 and if you give a rating of 95 for your selection, it actually means it is 100%.Am I right!
You can use your own system of ratings, but it would be better if you could compute your numbers to a max of 100 in each race for a clear understandability.
Wish you good luck and all the best.
Kindly let me know your email address.
Dear Abel,
my Email ID "sabala.m.rao@gmail.com".I understood your point of view.I"ll explain my method leisurely.Any how this is only to simplify the procedure so that a layman can understand easily, decide himself, how good is the horse in a given field & how much to bet on his choice.

rao sahab,
i totally agree with abelji.
what happens is people tend to forget the fact that a particular class is alloted certain points.
what can simply be done is that you can divide the points you have given to the particular animal by the maximum points possible, for that class.
that way the number will indicate the chance of any animal irrespective of the class.
this will give the day a level field.
i personally dont have an issue with you format of rating and it would end up being the same thing. but it would be helpful to all visitors to your blog in general.
in fact swamybabu, rajgopal nair etc have all switched to the 100 marks system after detailed discussions with them.
regards,
rajesh.
