1.Phoenix Reach is working well with Mumbai import Gleaming Sky,whos is a winner of a race & also has run some game races in elite company.Also the final spurt with Pleasuring is also encouraging & hence Phoenix Reach can be backed if the final odds are reasonably good. Gampu ,Royal Filly , Master Strategist & Silver Crest are the others, who have credentials to place. But I rule out Mast.Strategist, though is a demotee, due to the choice of JKY. Sil.Crest is very badly out of form, but watch the ring as the stable is known to produce rabits out of thin air.

2.Ignore the previous run of Miss Honeydew, who was well up with the front runners till the bend & then called it a day. With a run benefit & stable jky Gnaneshwar in the saddle, chances look bright. 4.There is very little to chose from Fleet.Arrow & Archipenko as per their last encounter. They will wage a bitter battle for supremacy. But I give slight edge due to the fact that the former won an impossible race from the runaway leader Archipenko. With KPG Appu in the saddle, who trys to take favourable position from the word go,I fancy Fleeting arrow to win. Western Command can occupy the third slot.The rest have very little chance, even to place.

5.Most of the players here are closely matched, & only the fittest of them will emerge victorious. How ever I fancy Dancing Highness to win from Badge of Gold

Fly For Sure credentials are unknown & only race time will unfold its true colours.Man United can grace the board if one of them fail.Black Splendour is the other pretender who can place.

7.The main contenders are Pleasuring, Hall Mark & Lester. The connections of Lester are known to bring down the horse a class or two & then make a betting coup.They are not known to take the bull by its horn. Minefield of a race, winner picking is difficult, as most of them have no current form nor tracks.Better leave it alone & watch the fun.For compulsive gambler, one may chose from the first two.

Rating Scale
Hi,
Most of my well wishers told me that the scale of rating the horses is too narrow for comfort.Hence I'm widening the scale of rating as under.But the essence & rationale behind the rating method remain same as mentioned in my earlier post. The only difference is each class is allotted 10 points, akin to 10 kgs per class.
CL V 50 to 59
CL IV 60 to 69
CL III 70 to 79
CL II 80 to 89
CL I 90 to 99
Classics/Graded 100 & above.

Bangalore Summer 2008
Hi,
Finally the agonising wait is over. Unless the rain gods play spoil sport, the season is set to start with a well filled card. Opening day will be dominated by the racing tycoon MAM Ramaswamy, as his wards STAR WAVE , OWN VOICE , POETIC, STAR PRESENTATION & PLEASURING are facing moderate opposition & are well prepared on the track. Most of them will open as favourites & unless there is some hanky panky, many favourite playing punters should return home with bulging pockets.
The agonising wait for Mr.Prasanna Kumar is also over, as he was waiting for his Bangalore training license for well over four months. Every one who was following Mysore races know that he is a very talented trainer. Now he will be training mostly for his elder brother Mr. Arunkumar, who is having around 20 to 25 horses. most of which are 3yr & 2yr olds. I wish Mr.Prasannakumar & his sporting brother Arunkumar a successful journey in their quest for racing glory.
