Dear All,
From now on I want to review the work done, analyse my selections & the strike rate achieved. I will do this self analysis at the end of every week's races. This is just to know, where I stand in this wonderful & mysterious world of racing & is it worth having a blog spending so much of time. Also I want to know, whether visitors of my blog are being benefited or not.
Following are the statistics and strike rate from the start of the Bangalore summer season 2008.Mysore is not considered as it is not worth taking a risk with your hard earned money & this centre is only a muggers delight. Though I may post my selections for Mysore depending on the time factor, still I advise punters to refrain from serious betting till the things improve.
Dt 1st Choice(win) 1st/2nd choice(win) Days Best
17.05.08 50.0 % 62.5 % Tipped 3 MAM's as good, Won all 3
18.05.08 44.4 % 55.5 % River Dancer Flopped
24.05.08 57.1 % 71.4 % Queens Guest Won
25.05.08 37.5 % 50.0 % Safari Won
31.05.08 66.7 % 83.3 % Star presentation Won
01.06.08 75.0 % 100.0 % Gentle Knight Won
Total 330.7 / 6 422.7 / 6 5 / 6
Strike Rate 55.2 % 70.5 % 83 %
I request the visitors of the blog to post their comments & let me know their views, so that any improvements can be made if necessary.
Also I'm spending lot of time on posting Speed ratings. I want to know whether they are useful to the blog visitors or should I stick to only posting selections & comments.
Regards,
madhu

Mr.Madhu...
Whats the importance of speed and time in horse racing according to u???..As per science and common sense the time is a relative thing ...The time clocked by any animal on this earth depends on the competitor..If the horse is not fully stretched then the timing wont reflect the true potential of the horse...I want to know how the time matters in horse racing if u have any solid theory please share with us...
dear rhool,
your rating is very good and gives lot of clues to us. to minimixe ur time u can give only the horses' name and rating. u need not have to give the details of weight and name of the jockey
keep it up
thanking u
with regards
jayakumar
Dear Madhu,
Your speed ratings are very usefull as always, we r benefited by ratings for a long time ( and some time with our's friend's rating).
Till last year you share it personally, when i m in pune, but since i moved out this blog is my main source of rating.
Please keep the good work going.
Thanks in advance,
Zaheer
Dear Zaheer,
Good to hear from u man after such a long time. How are you.when are you coming to Pune.I'm missing you & your Bangalore connection tips.Keep in touch.
Madhu
Dear Rakesh,
Timing does really matters,if one understands & interprets the same.If you look at only the official timings provided by the club, then you are really at sea & can not decipher the same. You have to take into account variables such as track condition, course to course variation(centre to centre), distance variation, change in weights, Monsoon track / Regular Track, lengths lost, weight change, Draw, Jky switch , Trip suitability etc, etc.Apart from timing, the condition of the horse is also very important. If you have noticed, the track of the horse is also expressed in terms of time by track reporters/time keepers.Apart from timing some people follow Class Handicapping. How ever i'm comfortable with Speed Ratings & have been following this system for the last 25 years & I've evolved my own method of calculating ratings & I'm happy with the same.If these ratings are useful to others, well I'm doubly happy.Any how thanks for your posting.

madhu
Dear Jayakumar,
Thakns for your post.I have received many posts from you earlier in race geniuss also & I could not reply to them many times due to my busy schedule. Thanks again for having faith in my Ratings.
madhu
Dear Mr.Madhu,
Your rating of horses is very good. I kindly request you to continue your ratings. The numbers actually decide whether we should go in for place or win. All races will have selections as 1, 2 …3 but the numbers matter the most. Good work, keep going.
Regards
Abel.
Dear Abel,
Thanks.you are correct, sometimes when you can't back first choice, because of cramped odds, you go for place betting, where the ratings will helo.
Regards,
madhu
Dear Madhu..
Thanks for ur reply..as per most of the seasoned race goers class handicapping is superior than any method of handicapping...The highly successful trainers follows class handicapping only.. few follows physical handicapping that too as a second one to substantiate the horse fitness...ur calculation of time is very worthy one and u taking various things into it.. and u have to spare lot of time to prepare the ratings....Once again thanks ur reply and ur selections..
RAO SAHAB,
HOW ARE YOU?
AS USUAL FANTASTIC WORK !!!!
PLEASE POST THE RATINGS ALONG WITH THE SELECTIONS AS I AM SURE IT HELPS ALL THE VISITORS TO YOUR BLOG.
REGARDS,
R.B.
Dear madhu sir,
This is suman a strong follower of your blog. My email address is sumankoka@yahoo.com. Your selections are simply superb and realistic. Yesterday i.e 5th June Mysore selections are simply superb. Giving selections to striking selections for mysore is not an easy task. I really profited by your selections. Even I dont analyze the race card some times taking printouts of your selections and RB sirs selections and some of other friends selections I(WE) can easily go to racecourse without fear.
Thanking you sir,
suman
hello madhu
I was also working your strike rate from the beginning of bangalore season and you have achieved 50% results. out of 92 races you have given 41 ist choices and 20 2nd choices, 12 3rd& 4th choices.
Its realy good and you have to continue your work as you are reaching top scale when comparing others and useful to punters.
To minimise your work you need not type the whole card. you can just give horse numbers.and in the selections you can give horse names.
thanks
raj
