13th July 2008 Pointers for Bangalore Kingfisher Derby

Prime Contenders For Bangalore Kingfisher Derby with MSR(Modified Speed Rating )

Set Alight ( Razeen/Set Aside ) MSR 119
There are no words to describe the exploits of this wonder filly from liquor baron Mr.Vijay Mallya's ward. She swamped the opposition in great style in fillies trial stakes, giving a thrashing to another great horse Kiara, who in turn swamped some good types in recently concluded Sprinters Juvenile Million. It should be a one horse affair, setting alight the stands.( barring unforeseen circumstances.)Unfortunately we will not get attractive price to back it.

Noble View ( Razeen / Anagram ) MSR 109
Another Razeen progeny, yet to peak out, is improving with every run as the distance is being stepped up, is the best from MAM's quartret running today.Sure to improve over its previous run as another 200 mtrs is to its liking, should run 2nd to Set Alight & if the bookies are generous enough, should be a good place bet

Archipenko ( China Visit / Born to Dance ) 105
Redeemed some of its lost pride, when running close to Fleeting Arrow in its prev.run, but has a herculean task ahead. If it can stay the distance, may finish 3rd.

Star of Washington ( Placerville / Stunning ) MSR 101
Did not live up to the hype of it's bloodline & is a just a shadow of its illustrious siblings Smart Chieftan ,Southern Empire & Classical Act.Though distance is in its favour, has to show lot of improvement to overwhelm the first three. If Archipenko fails to stay the distance can pay dividend in place.

Star Presentation ( A Fleets Dancer / Saffron Dancer ) MSR 97
Improving with every run after being gelded, won with authority in a CL II race, where the opposition was mediocre. Will appreciate the increase in distance, but has miles to go, to be a threat to the front line contenders.

Rest of the runners are not worth spending your time & discussing about their merits.
