Hi All,
I feel that Fighting star has lost a certain race due to questionable ride?.There was enough gap atleast for two horses to pass through along the rails. But Alford chose to switch the horse wide outside & lost very precious ground. Was it an injudicious ride or has he hooked the horse.Pl.watch the video & I request the comments of fellow race goers.

It is clear That Alford was not interested and he switched over from rails to outside and there itself he has lost the race.
From draw 1 why cant take a good jump and lead the field.intention is not there to win as he has to do justice to bookmakers as he has other two favourites which are too good to win.

Madhu ,
Iam not complaining as i had accepted the Jodi and backed Silken Clare.Fighting Star could not get a good start as Mangalya drawn 2 cut across initially. After that it was a lost cause. If Suraj was astride Fighting Star it Would have WON.
I avoid C.Alford Horse's which need strong assistance .After his back operation he is unable to offer much.
Nothing against the Jockey as such .I had tipped Aveline , Aurelian and Dash for Cash ridden by C Alford earlier.Just that horses which run freely can do well with Alford. That extra bit required from Jockey will be lacking. All his WIN's have come courtesy the Horse.

absolutely true. There was no way he could loose. But then it is c alford.
Hi,
You are a nice guy with immense knowledge in racing, no doubt about it. But crying like wolf does not suit to your calibre. You should admit Fighting Star lost the race, and for the mere fact that you tipped it as Days Best does not mean it should win. In reality, it does not have the class (No Class II material)and I dont remember any horse lost a race by 1-1/4 length in Class III winning a race immediately on promotion. You check your facts and enlighten me if I am wrong? Now the running and riding of the race, C.Alford taken a good jump and chosen the rails till nearing the bend and taken out the horse wide outside approaching 350 metres, whipped seven times to his dismay finishing on late to be 3rd. The eventual winner Silken Clare was whipped about 10 times by Christopher. The best horse in the field was Colonel Duff - its rider forgotten to use his whip for once, otherwise the result was something else. For your diary, dont back Fighting Star in Class II, he may be entered before the season ends and gobble again public money.
Mr.Pankaj,
I never cry over spilt milk. For your information,I enter the race course knowing pretty well, the kind of risks involved in racing including the one being debated & I am sustaining in races for the last 25 years, without crying.Do understand & differentiate a healthy debate and crying wolf.
Coming back to this particular race, this is nothing to do with my days best.I expressed my honest views after seeing the race & requested an impartial opinion of the fellow race goers. You may have different opinion & that's what racing makes so exciting, when people have diff opinions. If everyone has the same opinion, how can one make money in racing.
After receiving 4comments,out of which three persons are senior bloggers to me,I know my opinion stands vindicated.
As for your esteemed opinion of a class III loser not winning on promotion in a class II(or a loser in lower class, not winning in higher Class),here goes the list of horses which defied your logic.Examples,
R.No.122 BL Wntr,Ocean Crest 2nd in class III @59kg lost by a Nk
& won in R.No 155 in Cl II @51 Kgs.
R.No.142 BLW Silken Clare @62 in Cl IV lost by 2.75lnths & won in CL III R.No 176 @54(wt raised by 1kg@accpt)
R.NO.137 BLW Pacific Pride @62kg Cl V lost by 3.75 lnths & won in R.No 151 Cl IV @49.5Kg
R.No.39 BLW Hard Cash Cl V @62 lost by 3 Lnths @ won in R.no 47 Cl IV@ 55(wt raised by 5kgs@ accpt)
The list is endless my dear friend & these are facts.By the by when Fighting Star wins in Cl II, Pl do remember me
Regards.

Hi Pankaj,
In my hurry to post a reply,I totally forgot about the recent example.
Originality in R.No 59 in current season ran second in CL IV@61kg losing by a length & won on promotion in Race No 90 in Cl III@55kg by 2.25 Lnths.(wt increased by 5kgs@ accpt stage for all horses)
Hi Madhu,
Very Good Reply. Now,I guess Mr Pankaj(a new name!) will be eating his own words.Even a ordinary punter can tell that Fighting star could have done better than what it eventually did.Iam backing this horse from its first run and in this race it looked to me as certainity due to the reduced distance and drawn 1.I expected this horse to go on a start to finish mission.Jockey messed it all, whether due to his calibre or malintentions thats debatable.Any how a good horse lost which it should have not.
Hello Madhu,
This is the first time I am posting a comment on this blog. Incidently, I want to share an important information(or so I thought), that I overheard a veteran punter was commenting. It is that the Fighting Star is a Rig ( neither a colt nor a filly) and that it would always follow a filly if there is one in the card.To my surprise the winner was the only filly in the card. After the race I asked him whether it would win if there are no filly in the card. He told me that even then it may follow a colt or a gelding. On further query I was told it is very difficult for a Rig to win a race except the field is without a colt or a filly and there are only geldings running other than the Rig. I challenged him to substantiate and he was quick to point out the case of "Western Command" another Rig which has won recently in a card there were no filly or colt but only geldings.
I am not very sure of his observation but our bloggers may well do some research and find out.
Incidentally Mangalyaprarambh in that card was also a Rig!
